Shipwreck

The shipwreck “C-56 Juan Escutia” was sunk in the National Park of Puerto Morelos in 2000 in order to build an artificial reef. It has become a landmark of recreational deep-diving in Puerto morelos.

The mangrove is part of the coastal wetlands and is represented in this area with four different species. We can find mangroves in some cenotes too.

Rays and Sharks

Eagle rays are permanent inhabitants of the reef and its surroundings. We can also find sharks in this area such as the nurseshark, whale sharks or bullsharks depending on the season.
