INÉS LÓPEZ ERCILLA
I was born in Cancún and I lived most of my life in Spain, where my family is from.
I studied a bachelors degree in Biological Sciences and did my first dive at the age
of fourteen. In 2009 I spent a few months in south Turkey collecting data for the
establishment of a Marine Protected Area doing scientific diving. By then, I was
certain that I wanted to combine both careers.
I have worked as a biologist in several NGOs in Spain and the Mediterranean, always keeping an eye on my career as an instructor in spanish and mexican diving centers. In Mexico, I worked as an instructor in Puerto Morelos and after that as a biologist in monitoring and public use area for the Protected Areas public organism (CONANP) in the National Parc Reef of Puerto Morelos. I became a PADI diving instructor in 2012 in Zoea, Spain. I worked as a Divemaster and Instructor in Mouro Divers in Cantabria (north Spain) where I had to learn not to complain about cold water and reduced visibility. I have dived in the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and Indian Ocean and the Caribbean.
